Cambrian is a special geological period, known as “the beginning of the explosion of life”. A large number of Cambrian animal fossils which were discovered in Chengjiang County, Yuxi Municipality, Yunnan Province, in 1984 opened a window on the evolution of life on earth during the Cambrian explosion for the international scientific society. The abundant and exquisitely preserved fossils of Chengjiang Fauna are examples of the most concentrated in distribution and the most completed in preserve, which completely reproduces the colorful marine community about 518 million years ago. The Chengjiang Fossil Site was listed as a world natural heritage in 2012. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the discovery of Chengjiang Fauna. In 2014, Yuxi began to build Chengjiang Fossil Site Natural Museum. The museum occupies an area of 42,000 square meters with a total investment of RMB 630 million yuan. The museum is a large natural museum for collection, research, display and education, explaining the origin of life, the evolution of life and biodiversity with fossils as the theme. Data from the Commerce Department of Yuxi City shows that from January to July, 2019, the import and export of Yuxi City reached $1.211 billion dollars, with a year-on-year growth rate of 53.9%, and the growth rate was 42.9 percentage points higher than that of the whole province.
