On July 6th, the launching ceremony of the Xinhua News Information Center's "Millions of Media Linkage Plan" and the awards ceremony of the "A Better Year of Colorful Yunnan" Short Video Contest were held in Chengjiang, Yuxi. The Tsinghua City Health Environment Index was released at the Boao Health Conference a few days ago, and shows the overall level of China’s urban health environment index. The report shows that Yuxi is in a good condition. The annual average temperature of Yuxi is between 16.4-24.6℃. On May 19th, an interview event "Foreign Reporters in China Travelling in Yunnan" was held in Yuxi. Reporters representing agencies from Pakistan, Laos, Vietnam, Russia and Thailand, as well as reporters from the Hainan International Media Center and Mongolia Solunga News Center, conducted special interviews on governance, rural revitalization and ecological civil construction. The reporters visited the Beiyuan Community in Hongta District. At the community service center, they listened to an introduction of grassroots governance experience and practices. Journalists asked questions from time to time to learn more about the community’s demographic structure, activities and some of the difficulties in governance. Following this they went to Dayingjie Community, which enjoys the reputation of “the First Village in Yunnan”and is representative of actively developing and expanding the collective economy and promoting the common prosperity of residents. The 15th Conference of the United Nations’ "Convention on Biological Diversity" (CBD COP15) is scheduled to be held in Kunming, Yunnan from October 11th to 24th, 2021. The world-famous Chengjiang fossil site lies on the north shore of Fuxian Lake. It is a window into the Cambrian life explosion and one of the sacred early-life fossil sites, known as the cradle of life. Fauna on Chengjiang’s Maotianshan Mountain point to the scene of the Cambrian explosion of life, and it is also the place where Mr. Hou Xianguang first discovered fossils. 530 million years ago, it was a shallow sea teeming with the earliest animals on earth which roamed freely. Suddenly encountering a mudslide, many animals were instantly buried alive at the bottom of the sea. Afterwards geological changes caused an uplift to form the current mountain range. The fauna vividly reproduced the magnificent landscape of marine life 530 million years ago, providing precious evidence for the study of theories on the origin, evolution, and ecology of early life on earth.
