Chengjiang City is located in central Yunnan, 52 km from Kunming, and inside the core area of the One Hour Economic Circuit in Central Yunnan. It is known as the back garden of Kunming, the reception hall of Yunnan and the most beautiful county in Yunnan. It is rated as a national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration county and the most valuable cultural tourism county in (Yunnan) China. In 2016, Chengjiang City was listed in the second batch of national all-for one tourism demonstration zones. In May 2019, Fuxian Lake was upgraded to national tourist resort status. In February 2020, Chengjiang was officially renamed as Chengjiang City.

In every city, there is a building with an imprint on it.  Hongta is a small town named after a red tower. Around this tower, the city below the hill has undergone great changes over a long course of time.
