Since late June, the 200 mu (approximately 13.3 hectares) of honey plum orchards in Daheichong Village, Lishan Township, Tonghai County have entered the harvest season. Villagers have been busy picking, packing, and shipping the fruit to markets. So far, about 70% of the harvest has been completed, with stable demand and smooth sales. In recent years, the Party General Branch of Daheichong Village has leveraged its mountainous geographical advantages by introducing high-quality honey plum varieties from Guizhou Province. Through a Party member-led demonstration model, the village has promoted honey plum cultivation among local farmers. At the same time, modern cultivation techniques have been widely adopted, steadily improving fruit quality. Recently, edible roses in Wadie Township, Yuanjiang County have entered the harvest season. Making full use of its local resource endowments, the township has promoted edible rose cultivation under a new three-dimensional agricultural development model: flue-cured tobacco on the mountaintops, sugarcane and flowers on the hillsides, vegetables and fruits at the foothills, and cacao intercropped beneath mango trees. At present, the township has planted 93.3 mu (approximately 6.2 hectares) of edible roses. This year, dried rose flowers are being purchased under a guaranteed minimum price scheme, effectively safeguarding farmers’ incomes and interests. In summer, the forests of Sizhai Village in Sijie Township, Tonghai County are flourishing with premium mushroom varieties, including Sarcodon imbricatus (tiger paw mushrooms) and Dictyophora rubrovolvata (hongtuo bamboo gungus). Leveraging its rich forest resources, the village has actively explored the development of the under-forest economy by promoting large-scale mushroom cultivation. Currently, around 10 mu (approximately 0.67 hectares) of mushrooms are being cultivated on a trial basis, showing promising growth. Some of the mushrooms are expected to reach the market soon. On May 7th, inside the workshop of Yuxi Jinfu Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. in the Guanyinshan Area of Yunnan Hongta Industrial Park, skilled workers were busy with production. The company specializes in the production and processing of basic components for high-end CNC machine tools. It now has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of high-grade gray cast iron and ductile iron. In the first quarter of 2026, the company achieved a total industrial output value of 46.3 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 63.1%.

On March 17, during the critical period of spring plowing and preparation, aerial photos taken by reporters over the fields in Tonghai County, Yuxi City, presented a vibrant spring farming scene. The fields were a hive of activity, as farmers were racing against the farming season to carry out spring cultivation. Viewed from above, the contiguous vegetable bases were lush and green, with all kinds of vegetables growing vigorously. The fields in different colors were interwoven, just like a carefully blended palette by nature.

In the Yunxi Pottery Studio located in Wayao Community, Fenghuang Sub-district, Hongta District, tile cats of various shapes can be found in every corner: the anthropomorphic "Tile Cat Lord" stands tall and proud; the cute "tilted-head" tile cat is endearing; the tile cat tea sets decorated with blue and white patterns are elegant and gentle...
