Recently, the Safest City in China Ranking List was released in Hongkong by CICC(China Institute of City Competitiveness), Again, Yuxi made it to top 30, ranking No.11 proudly, as the only city in Yunnan on the list. So far, Yuxi has been on the list for 5 times. 　 　 　　Yuxi has always been making effort on building a lawful and orderly city, with scientific public security prevention and control system. As the seagulls are flying over the lake and the water is shining under the sun, the signal was made for all fishing-boats to go, on the day December 26, 2016. Fishing festival is a great annual event in Jiangchuan and this year it is themed at “Gather Here and Celebrate Together”. Not only is it the 12th Fishing Festival, but also the Lake Aquatic Products Trade Fair in Plateau. On the manned spacecraft shenzhou XI, astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong drank tea for the first time in space. That image left deep impression on a lot of people. 　 　 　　Late November 20, CCTV channel I "Challenge the Impossible" revealed the scene of astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong as "challengers" to drink the first cup of tea in space. On November 21, Yunnan Puer Tea association and Yunnan Space Biotechnology Development Association co-hosted a press conference in Beijing, and Yunnan Gongrunxiang Tea Industry Co.Ltd. revealed the mystery of “the First Cup of Tea” . 　　The tea was one of a kind that provides the best quality and high solubility. Yunnan Gongrunxiang Tea Industry Co. Ltd. stood out among numerous tea cream brands and became a pioneering on Chinese tea history as the first cup of tea. Gongrunxiang was located in Yuxi in June of 2012. An investment of 150 million in Yuxi High-tech Zone brought out a research and production base covering an area of 46 mu. The first cup of tea is from this base.

On the midnight of November 16th, Yuxi station (the old train station) of Kunming- Yuxi - Hekou railway was officially renamed as Yuxi West Station, and another railway station, former Yuxi West Station of New Kunming-Yuxi railway was renamed as Yuxi Station and still under construction. All signs on this two stations will be replaced. 　　

On November 7, 2016 Colorful Yunnan Gryffindor International Bicycle Festival began its contest at Yuxi station. More than 600 contestants from 23 countries and regions such as Australia, Belgium, Canada and so on, were competing for nearly 6 hours of high strength, and all the prizes were taken afterwards. 　 　 　　Vice-mayor Li Xiaoying delivered a speech, expressing warm welcome to all the contestants and guests from home and abroad. In her speech, she addressed Gryffindor International Bicycle Festival as a famous sports contest and also an important event that connects sports with tourism and culture. Over the past five years, the local government in Yunnan province has restored Fuxian Lake, its third-largest freshwater lake, back to its former clarity through dozens of ecological restoration projects. 　　On Friday, the government of Yuxi, the city where the lake is located, organized a series of eventscommemorating the 12th annual Fuxian Lake Protection Day, including destroying illegal fishingnets, conveying the importance of environmental protection and releasing 350,000 Schizothoraxtaliensis, an endangered indigenous fish species, back into the lake to balance the ecosystem. 　　The local government plans to release 700,000 of the fish by the end of this year. 　　Reported By Li Yingqing and Li Xinyi in Yuxi ( China Daily )
