On the morning of August 18, the 13th Tsinghua University Public Management Forum was held by Fuxian Lake. Leaders, experts and scholars from everywhere in China came together to discuss modernization of national governance and the methods for sustainable development, and to provide advisory and think-tank support for Yuxi’s high quality and frog-leap-forward development. 　　The Tsinghua University Public Management Forum is a brand of Tsinghua that links public management education with local governments, combines theory with practice, and serves local economy and social development. Since it was held in 2006, the forum had invited academicians, faculty members, experts and scholars outside the school to inspect the development of local government governance, discuss the frontier topics of economic and social development in China, and promote the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity. With the theme of modernization of national governance and sustainable development, the forum was divided into four sub-topics, namely Innovation and Public Governance for An Era of AI, Ecological Civilization Construction, The Belt and Road and Opening Development, Medical Insurance Reform, Aging and Medical Nursing Services. 　　This forum is an important part of cooperation between the School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University and Yuxi Municipal People’s Government. It aims to build a high-level platform for exchange and cooperation, promote the sharing of frontier theories and practical experience, and deepen the understanding & consensus of all sectors of society on modernization of national governance. It is of great significance to solve the current difficulties in the modernization of national governance, explore the government governance system in the new period and further promote the healthy and sustainable development of China’s economy and society. At the same time, it will also discuss the unique and rich practical experiences in modernization of governance and sustainable development in Yuxi, and help Yuxi to achieve high quality and frog-leap-forward development.

　　On the morning of August 19, leaders, experts and scholars who participated in the 13th Tsinghua University Public Management Forum visited the First Discovered Point of Chengjiang Fossil Site and Yuxi Manor. They learned more about Chengjiang Fossil Site, Yuxi Tobacco and the economy of Yuxi Manor. 　　Experts and scholars learned the history about the discovery of Chengjiang Fossil Site, watched some fossil specimens from early Cambrian Period and fossil introductions with the explanation of guide in the First Discovered Point of Chengjiang Fossil Site. In Yuxi Manor, they visited Agricultural Planting Demonstration Garden with Plateau Characteristics and learned current situation of green ecological safe healthy development of Yuxi Tobacco, and the history of Yuxi tobacco industry. They listened carefully to the introduction, took photos, and asked the guide about the issues they interested in.

　　On August 10, tourists selected and bought Huaning pottery happily at 2018 Creative Yunnan Cultural Industries Fair. Huaning County organized 16 enterprises like Jinyao Pottery, Qicaihong Kiln and Yang Bamboo Knits participated in the exhibition of this Cultural Industries Fair. Huaning Pottery became a highlight. In recent years, Huaning County strengthen the brand construction of Huaning Pottery constantly and organized pottery enterprises to participate in various exhibitions of cultural industries inside and outside the province, such as China Art Fair, China-South Asia Exposition, Shenzhen International Cultural Industries Fair, Creative Yunnan Cultural Industries Fair for many times. The exchange and cooperation are enhanced and their products are highly appreciated.

　　From July 28 to July 29, Tennis Match of Yunnan Provincial Game was held in Lincang Municipality. Tennis Team of Yuxi Delegation won a silver medal in first division of women’s team match. 　　On the night of July 24, Excellent Program Tour of the 12th National Dance Performance kicked off. 　　The National Dance Performance was held by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of People’s Republic of China and Yunnan Provincial People’s Government. After the performance ended in Kunming, some wonderful programs were displayed in Qujing, Yuxi, and Pu’er. The 12 programs in the tour were the most excellent elected from 80 programs. 　　This tour provided a rare chance for Yuxi Culture to learn from advanced creative ideas outside, to promote performing arts, to show profound culture of Yuxi and it was also a good opportunity to build city’s business card, to promote city’s grade, and to show city’s image. 　　The tour activity in Yuxi was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of People’s Republic of China and Yunnan Provincial Government, and undertaken by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Yuxi Municipal People’s Government.

On July 22, Fencing Competition of the 15th Yunnan Provincial Games was held in Luxi County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, P. R. China. Yuxi Fencing Team won 2 gold medals in the first division of Men’s Foil and the first division of Men’s Sabre. At the same day, Yuxi Shooting Team won a gold medal in the second division of Women’s Electronic Laser Gun Team. On July 23, Yuxi Delegation won 3 gold medals in Canoeing, Shooting and Fencing. At press time on 23 July, Yuxi Delegation had won 8 gold medals in Shooting, Canoeing and Fencing.

　　Recently, a flower specialist from Israel directed production in Yuxi Heyun Horticultural Industry Co., Ltd. It was known that Yuxi Heyun Horticultural Industry Co., Ltd invested to build a production base with 12.2 hectares of premium rose seedlings and flowers in Dacun Village, Cuifeng Village Committee, Jiangcheng Town, Jiangchuan District, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, P. R. China in 2017. After the program being finished, it would become a production base of rose seedlings & flowers with higher automation and increase the incomes for the local farmers. According to the statistics of agricultural department, up to 10 June, 2393.3 hectares of fresh cut flowers was planted in Yuxi City, 326.7 hectares of fresh cut flowers more than last year.

On the afternoon of July 12, Leaders from Yunnan Provincial Government, Time Group and Chinese Culture Group attended the signing ceremony of the 2019 Fortune Global Sustainability Forum in Kunming. Vice-governor Zhang Guohua announced that the three parties will hold the first Fortune Global Sustainability Forum in 2019 at Fuxian Lake, Chengjiang County, Yuxi City. 　　 　　The morning earlier, Mr.Alan Murray, the editor of Fortune Magazine and Chief Content Officer of Time Group, Mr. John Needham, CEO of Fortune Global Sustainability Forum, and leaders from Chinese Culture Group headed to Hilton Hotel at Fuxian Lake, and later to Cambrian Town in Chengjiang, as a field reconnaissance to check on Yuxi’s service ability in hosting conferences and exhibitions as well as the surrounding facilities.

The year of 1998 is a historical spot for Yuxi, as it officially became Yuxi Municipality.Yuxi had taken new steps to open up to the outside world since then and stepped out of a new pattern in this 20 years.The expansion of “friends circle”, the breakthrough of establishing international twin-cities, and the omnidirectional world trade of multilevel, wide area, and diversification, as well as international communication in many fields including information, technology, education, culture and so on, are all evidence to Yuxi’s big success on opening. 　　 　　In 2006, Lao’s deputy prime minister led a delegation of senior officials to visit Yuxi. After the visit, Laos and Yuxi had preliminary discussions on establishing friendly relationship. In the following year, the governor of the Lao’s Champasay Province, issued a petition to Yuxi, claiming that they agreed to a comprehensive cooperative relationship with Yuxi. 　　In 2009, a delegation from Yuxi government visited Champasay, and signed the agreement on establishing twin-city relationship, putting an end to Yuxi’s "zero" era of friendly relations with foreign cities, creating both political and cultural exchanges continuously expanding scope, and the continuous increase of economic and trade exchanges.
