The delegation with 7 officials led by John Crowe, Mayor of Clare County from Ireland, visited Yuxi on May 19th. On that day, the delegation led by Mayor John Crowe toured Chengjiang Luchong Resort, Nie’er Cultural Square, Hongta Group and Walvax Biotechnology Co., Ltd. one by one, which strengthened their understanding of the tourism culture and urban construction. After their visit, Mayor John Crowe and other officials all lauded Yuxi as a city with a splendid ecological environment and profound culture. Clare County is located in west Ireland. The capital city is Ennis. As one of the 32 traditional counties in Ireland, Clare County is the 7th largest area with the 19th largest population. The county has a diverse economy and the agriculture and its related fields play an important part. With the flourishing developments in industry and commerce in Ennis and the Shannon area, the Shannon Free Trade Area is one of the largest regional economic centers. Especially known for its music and dance, it is also the hometown of a large number of literary celebrities, where literature and music festivals are held annually that attract enthusiasts around the world. During the visit, Zuo Guang, Deputy Mayor of Yuxi Municipal People’s Government, hosted the delegation and introduced Yuxi to them. He said that as the hometown of Nie Er and the Hometown of Huadeng Opera, Yuxi has a lot in common with Clare County. He hoped that the two sides could strength the cooperation in economy, trade, cultural exchange and education to promote mutual development.
