It is organized by the Department of Commerce under the provincial government and the Yuxi Municipal People’s Government and operated by Yuxi Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Yimen County Committee, Yimen County Government and Yunnan Mushroom Association, with mushroom trading, investment negotiation, folk art performance, souvenir exhibition, and cultural achievement exhibition. The goal of holding the fair is to exhibit the unique resources, ethnic culture and beautiful ecological environment of Yimen and to promote economic, social and cultural development of the county. From August 6th to 8th, 2005, the first China Yunnan Natural Mushroom Fair was successfully held. The provincial department of commerce granted the nameplate “Yunnan Natural Mushroom Trade Center” to Yimen as well as the operation right to China Yunnan Natural Mushroom Fair permanently to Yimen. The fair is held in early August every year with different themes for each time.
