The Story behind Tile Cat Lord

In the Yunxi Pottery Studio located in Wayao Community, Fenghuang Sub-district, Hongta District, tile cats of various shapes can be found in every corner: the anthropomorphic "Tile Cat Lord" stands tall and proud; the cute "tilted-head" tile cat is endearing; the tile cat tea sets decorated with blue and white patterns are elegant and gentle... These intangible cultural heritage (ICH) cultural and creative products, which break free from the constraints of traditional architectural concepts, are the works of post-90s ceramist Wang Ziqiang and his wife Li Ping. Over the past decade, this young inheriting couple has transformed the once roof-dwelling "house-protecting mythical beast" into a cultural trend product that enters thousands of households, writing an entrepreneurial story of living inheritance of ICH with perseverance and innovation.

On November 29th, the main stadium of Yuxi Plateau Sports Center in Yunnan was filled with an extraordinarily vibrant atmosphere, where drumbeats mingled with cheers and battle flags fluttered. While the excitement of the 2025 Chinese Super League (CSL) was still lingering, the flames of the Yunnan Super League were ignited here. In the opening match that night, Yuxi Team claimed an overwhelming 4-0 victory over Nujiang Team, securing a brilliant start to the season and treating the 23,868 on-site spectators to a thrilling and satisfying football feast.

The strawberry harvest season is coming, and the 1,700-mu standardized strawberry base in Zhongying Village, Jiuxi Town, Jiangchuan District is embracing its "sweet moment". From scientific planting in the fields to integrated production and marketing with efficient distribution, the strawberries here not only boast outstanding quality but also are sold to all parts of the country through multiple channels, becoming the "fortune-making fruit" for the local people.

In the early morning of November 12th, just as dawn broke, the surrounding areas of Yuxi's central urban district were enveloped in a thin layer of mist and clouds. Captured by a drone, the mist and clouds looked like loosened cotton wool, gently wrapping half of the city's buildings. The interplay between the morning hustle (of the city) and the mist and clouds formed a stunning picture, adding a unique morning makeup to Yuxi in early winter, which was incredibly beautiful.

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, Yuxi Waterfall Ecological Park became a popular destination for citizens and tourists to relax and enjoy the scenery. On the afternoon of October 4th, the reporter saw waterfalls cascading and green trees providing shade in the park, with a steady stream of visitors maintaining order. Tourists walked along the viewing trails in an orderly manner, some stopping to appreciate the water scenery, some strolling in groups, and others taking photos in an orderly way. The harmonious picture of man and nature, man and landscape, became the most attractive scenery of the park.

On September 7th, the Global South World Heritage Forum was held at the Chengjiang Fossil Site World Natural Heritage Museum. Over 120 guests from home and abroad focused on the theme of "Sustainable Development of World Heritage in the Global South" and conducted in-depth discussions on new approaches to the protection and utilization of world heritage through keynote speeches, salon dialogues, field visits and other forms.
