The Second Session of the 5th Yuxi Municipal People’s Congress Began
On the morning of January 16, 2019, the Second Session of the 5th Yuxi Municipal People’s Congress began at Nie’er Grand Theatre.
Mr. Li Hongyun, executive chairman of the presidium and presiding chairman of the first plenary meeting, presided over the opening meeting.
Mr. Zhang Dehua, Mayor of Yuxi Municipal People’s Government gave a report on the work of the government to the meeting. The report pointed out that in 2018, Yuxi Municipal People’s Government, under the strong leadership of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, guided by Xi Jinping’s socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, closely adhered to the requirements in “Six Aspects Stand Out Among the Whole Province”, the following achievements had been got.
We focused industries and adjusted the structures so that the economic development makes steady progress. We focused on projects and increased investment so that the potential for economic development is increased. We focused on reform and opening-up, so that endogenous dynamics are released in spurts. We focused on planning and construction, so that the outlooks of urban and rural areas are obviously improved. We focused on environment and ecology, so that environment quality is increasingly improved. We focused on people’s livelihood and harmony, so that people’s welfare is gradually enhanced. We focused on work style and efficiency, so that their own building is comprehensively strengthened. The overall economic and social situation develops in a steady way. The GDP of the whole municipality is expected to increase by about 9%. The income of the general public budget increased by 3.8%. The investment in fixed assets increased by 10%. The total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 12%. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased by 8% and 9% respectively. The total level of consumer prices of residents rose by 1.9%. The registered unemployment rate of cities and towns reached 3.19%. The urbanization rate reached 52.5%. The energy consumption per unit gross domestic product decreased 2.9%.
