Nie’er Park Became a Diversified Ecological Leisure Park
Recently, the sponge construction project of Nie’er Park was completed and opened to the public as a whole. The project further improved the supporting facilities and landscape quality, enhanced the site vitality and interest, and turned Nie’er Park into a diversified ecological leisure park.
The construction was started in March 2018 and was completed on April 30 this year. The project takes the sponge function as the core, aimed at improving ecological green isle of Yuxi and constructing the water ecosystem with self-purification ability by adding artificial wetland, lake body modified filler and implementing rainwater and sewage diversion. At the same time, the overall landscape structure of the park was transformed, with Children’s Recreation Center, Flower Field Science Center, Folk Path Center, Wetland Purification Center, Singing and Dancing Center, Waterfront Recreation Center, Flower Slope Viewing Center, etc.
This renovation project gives priority to the construction of the park’s healthy water system, plant habitat and other ecosystems, and forms a complete ecosystem through the combination of a variety of aquatic plants and the release of various fish, shrimp and shellfish. Project put forward the systematic solution of the park landscape elements, the floor space system integration, for the use of different ages people to establish the corresponding activity venues, optimized extension path, improve the barrier-free transportation system, back combed the area of plant canopy closure, retain the tree, make thin grass land, repair the percent of historical buildings and other structures, memory space, and increase the display facilities, as the park’s unique culture elements, enhance the cultural atmosphere of the park.
It is known that Nie’er Park was founded in 1985, is a memorial to the people’s musician Nie Er mainly, both cultural, recreation and entertainment functions of the comprehensive park. The renovation of the park not only meets the basic recreational functions of citizens, but also has the functions of disaster prevention and risk aversion, alleviating urban waterlogging, displaying urban culture, and establishing urban image.
