Xinping Huayao Dai Folk Songs was Staged on CCTV
On February 20th, 2017, five original songs of Huayao Dai People in Xinping County including The Migration, As Beautiful as Plantain Heart, Early Spring in Our Hometown etc. were played on CCTV music channel, which was the very first time for Huayao Dai folk songs to be staged on CCTV.
The original music group of Xinping Huayao Dai was invited to Beijing on October 13th, 2016, to be part of the show The Beauty of Chinese Music. Finally 5 songs were chosen, which are all originally created by Huayao Dai People in Xinping and themed on love story, migration, making toast etc, illustrating the essence of their culture and unique charm of their music. The six performers are all Huayao Dai people, and three of them are farmers who had no professional training background but taught themselves and practiced to be good at singing out of passion for music.
Xinping is honored as “the Hometown of Huayao Dai”, for its unique minority culture and rich tourism resources. This broadcast in CCTV is quite a good way to promote Xinping Huayao Dai culture to the world and bring about significance to the development of Xinping tourism.
