  How is the operating status of the Alibaba rural area Taobao Tonghai Service Center since its opening? How’s the progress in promoting the e-commerce service to rural area projects in Tonghai? With these questions, the deputy secretary and mayor of Yuxi municipal committee – Rao Nanhu left for Tonghai County for a field survey on the progress of e-commerce operations recently. As she stressed, All counties and districts shall learn from the beneficial experiences through Tonghai in the field of e-commerce development so as to carry out e-commerce to rural area projects as soon as possible, letting more people enjoy fast and convenient e-commerce services, and driving their passion to business startup and mass innovation for the sake of industrial transformation and upgrading and opening up a new path for leap-forward development in the Yuxi e-commerce industry.

  Since opening the service center on July 30th, it has been operating smoothly for 5 days. Rao surveyed and inspected the office conditions of the center, exhibition arrangements, warehousing, logistics, training classrooms, etc. as well as speaking with those responsible of the center about the business status of the center since its opening. Rao was very happy when informed that the office, exhibition and training conditions were better than other locations, and the daily order volume was about 300 and showed an upward trend. Apart from acknowledging the work done by Tonghai County, Rao also hoped that Alibaba could expedite the progress of Taobao rural area projects in other counties and districts in Yuxi so that more of the rural public could benefit from fast and convenient e-commerce services, keeping agriculture, the farmer and rural area better served from Internet+.

  At the Tonghai e-commerce service center, multiple e-commerce platforms like Shenzhou mymyty and Ule are clustered, forming an e-commerce startup incubation center and e-commerce public service center integrated with platform construction, subject training, incubation support and marketing & promotion. Rao listened carefully to the introductions given by Tonghai county government leaders and e-commerce personnel-in-charge to get an overall picture of the progress and operations of the e-commerce platform in Tonghai and talked with young people at the mymyty e-commerce training center by asking “Where did you graduate from?”, “What’s your major?”, when the young people told her that their majors were secretarial work and Chinese, Rao encouraged those young people, “What you have learned does not matter, what matters is your ability to learn.” We hope that young people can keep learning and improve their quality and capabilities so as to achieve their dreams of being entrepreneurs via the e-commerce platform.

  The general public will have much easier access to online shopping once the e-commerce platform is built, but how do you market local specialty products on the Internet? Rao came to Yunxiu Flower Co., Ltd. to learn more about the online marketing situation of rose seedlings. The company is the provincial key leading enterprise integrated with a new species of R&D, seedling breeding and efficient fresh cut flower production. The online sales volume of the company can reach RMB 10 million each year, taking up 20% of their total sales. Rao conducted a field survey of the company’s flower breeding base and fresh cut flower production workshop and encouraged the company to continue adhering to technical innovation, species R&D and brand promotion by properly using the e-commerce platform (Internet+) to build the company into a large entity for the sake of bringing wealth to more rural people's lives.

  Rao Nanhu gave complete acknowledgement to the e-commerce rural area project in Tonghai. She said that the Tonghai county committee and government attached great importance to the development of e-commerce and its achievements have been made in introducing e-commerce to rural projects. Experiences in promoting the development of e-commerce have been learned and model has been established. Next, Tonghai shall properly proceed and complete relevant projects by setting the goal of being one of the top 100 e-commerce counties nationwide.

  Rao also emphasized our city as the pilot city of the broadband network access project with sound information construction foundations and advantages in e-commerce development. Counties and districts shall seize the opportunity to speed up the progress of e-commerce to rural area projects so as to promote the level of circular modernization in rural areas and stimulate people’s passion for entrepreneurship and mass innovation for the sake of opening up a new path for leap-forward development of the e-commerce industry of Yuxi. In addition, we should pay close attention to the cultivation of talent in logistic services and e-commerce, closely binding e-commerce development and investment attraction programs for the purpose of building a sound e-commerce ecosphere in Yuxi.
