Qinghua Street---the New Landmark of Yuxi
Yuxi Qinghua Street is located at No.95 Hongta Avenue, Hongta District, Yuxi Municipality. Yet it doesn’t really look like a “street”, at least not the traditional impression of street, but more like a complex integrating historical culture, folk crafts, modern creativity and other elements.
Walking into the street, tourists will be attracted by long lanes of food stalls serving local snacks, such as rice-noodles, chicken wings and sweets. Either spicy or sweet, they will occupy most people’s tongue.
Qinghua means blue and white porcelain in Chinese, which is an essential part of the street. Not far from the gathering place of food stalls, are booths full of potters. They display their homemade pottery to attract visitors, which are exquisite in workmanship and of various shapes, some antique and elegant, some novel and unique.
