The
Enchanting Yuanjiang River |
| ¡¡¡¡ It was named as Black Water, Pushui, and Lili
River in the old days; originating in Diantou of Weishan County and
in the Liangwang Mountain of Xiangyun County in the west; in the Big
Wutai Mountain of Lufeng County in the east and mixing with the Dachun
River which originates in the main peak of the Ailao Mountains at
the Water Pond Village of Xinping County, flowing across the Red River
Prefecture into the Northern Bay of Viet Nam. Rich Water Resources The converse elevation between the main peak of the Ailao Mountain and the Yuanjiang Canyon is 3,000 meters. The water flows down as if from heaven, forming many magnificent cataracts of a rich water resource with the storage of electricity of more than a million kilowatts. It has become the municipality¡¯s base of water and electricity development with an excellent condition of comprehensive use ¡°to build reservoirs at the beginning, to produce power in the middle, and to irrigate at the end.¡± Yuanjiang is a silver chain of jewels, winding through many basins. The double season rice is harvested every year. Excellent sugar canes are growing everywhere along with quite a few sugar factories by the river.
