กกกก The Fuxian Lake is situated over juncture of
Chengjiang, Jiangchuan, and Huaning Counties. It was named Big Pond
in the Tang Dynasty. There lived the Luojia Tribe in the Dali Kingdom
of the Song Dynasty. So it was also named as the Luojia Lake. Later,
It is said that two immortal from heaven with the sir names of Shi
and Xiao respectively stood hand in hand, boating and sightseeing
on the wavy and roaring lake. Appearing clear and vague now and then,
they enjoyed the scenery too much to return that they transformed
into the rocks and cliffs in the southeast of the lake.
Extending 212 square kilometers like a gourd and with an average depth
of more than 87 meters, an audible degree of 8 meters and the deepest
point being 157 meters, it is the second deepest freshwater lake in
China. Its water is clear and around it are Evening Glory, and the
Water Piping Elephant Trunk. Yang Shen, the champion in an imperial
examination of the Ming Dynasty praised this lake in his poem:
Chengjiang is a beautiful jade green,
With another one embedded in;
If not for fewer buildings therein,
Surpassing the West Lakes it is seen. Source:Tour
