Geographical Location
　　 Yuxi Municipality, a green jade in Central Yunnan, is a pearl in the southwest of China, with an area of 15,000 square kilometers. It is named for its jade water springs forming clear streams.
　　It is situated in the center of Yunnan Province, connecting the Red River Prefecture, Kunming City, Simao Municipality, and Chuxiong Prefecture, only 98 kilometers away from Kunming, the capital of the province. Yuxi municipality administers one district and eight counties, namely Hongta District, Jiangchuan County, Chengjiang County, Tonghai County, Huaning County, Yimen County, Eshan County, Xinping County, and Yuanjiang County,with a population of some 2 million, of whom 31.65% are ethnics.
